Its story: Khorjin is a memory of the migration route: the rhythm of the double-sided saddlebag once hung from a horse's saddle lives on today as stripes, small medallions, and talismanic markings on the ground. The sturdy fibers of wool and the deep tones of madder dye whisper of journey, abundance, and protection with ram's horns, stars, and zigzags. The twin pattern (two bags/double wings) evokes balance and unity at home; each knot recalls the patience of the knot-maker, each border the encounters of the Silk Road. This piece is not just a rug, but a silent reminder of the courage to set out on the journey.
